The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could help the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Questers and Planners parties.
